Harry Potter Anniversary Week – Day 7

THANK YOU

On the last day of what I think has been an absolutely amazing and magical week I want to thank a bunch of people. Their significance is not in order.

First, I want to thank my mom, who selflessly wished for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone for Christmas just so that she and I could experience the magical world together. She didn’t know what it was about or how big it would become – how hugely it has impacted my life on so many levels. Furthermore, when I moved away from home she gifted me the entire series with the words: “they belong with you”. Her gift to me is everlasting and I will forever be grateful.

Second, I want to thank the Wizarding World Book Club. It came around at a time in my life when I desperately needed to find myself again and it quite literally showed me the world. I want to thank my online Twitter family who eagerly have been ready to discuss everything magical, and who are always there with support and advice when I need it. They are a fun bunch, and even though we don’t always agree I’m grateful to have met all these wonderful people who can make me laugh, cry and ponder.

Thirdly, I simply have to thank my boyfriend. Magic brought us together and I thank social media because without it we would never have met. He is my soulmate in every way, sincere, kind and honest. He accepts me for who I am and is mostly amused by all of my quirky sides. He is magical.

Last, but certainly not least, I want to thank J. K. Rowling from the bottom of my heart. Without you the world would be a darker place.

I know the post is rather short but I don’t want to keep writing just for the sake of writing. Quality over quantity. Thank you for staying until the very end and for wanting to celebrate the magical world of Harry Potter with me.

I open at the close.

Cheers!
