Halloween Creatures Book Tag || Blogoween 2019

Even though it’s not a Danish tradition I wanted to do something special for Halloween. Don’t get me wrong, it does exist, but because we kind of have our own dress-up tradition in Feburary Halloween is secondary and is seen as something American (which is weird since it originates from the UK). I borrowed this tag from Anthony @ Keep Reading Forward as a way of celebrating Halloween – or as it’s known in the blog world: blogoween – as a fun way of participating in this spooky tradition.

WITCH
A Magical Character or Book

Being a major Harry Potter fan is this question even a thing? I will, of course, always choose the Potter books!

WEREWOLF
The Perfect Book to Read at Night

Aren’t all books perfect to read at night? Perhaps not horror books as I am really sensitive to that kind of thing.

FRANKENSTEIN
A Book that Truly Shocked You

I have to say The Hate U Give because I knew that there were big racial problems in the US but I must admit that I had no idea that it was this bad! That truly shocked me.84892D1D-0C18-43BD-882A-0791DF1BCE3F

THE DEVIL
A Dark, Evil Character

I suppose there are the classic ones like Voldemort from Harry Potter or Sauron from The Lord of the Rings but I tend to be more frightened and/or creeped out by “real” evil villains like some of the characters from Game of Thrones, or the murderer in Career of Evil.Career of Evil

GRIM REAPER
A Character that Should Never Have Died

Being a Harry Potter fan I HAVE to say Fred Weasley! For some reason I still can’t get over his death and even though other characters may be more deserving (like Cedric) I would want to bring back Fred and pretend he never died in the first place.

ZOMBIE
A Book that Made You “Hungry” for More

I lot of books have made me hungry for more but no book has done a better job at that than the Harry Potter books. I’m sorry, okay, but that’s just how I feel!

GARGOYLE
A Character that You Would Protect at All Cost

I suppose I have to try to move away from the Potter universe and choose someone else. I think I’d pick Peeta from The Hunger Games. He definitely didn’t deserve what came his way (not that a lot of the characters did but his heart was especially pure). Perhaps I’ll throw Prim in there as well. Peeta and Prim (I sure love my Ps, haha).

VAMPIRE
A Book that Sucked the Life Out of You

Recently? I have to say The Cruel Prince. I tried, I really did, but it’s just not for me. At all! If not recently then I choose The Cursed Child. Mostly because it was such a huge dissappointment but how could it be otherwise with that kind of false advertisement? The 8th story my arse! It’s kind of a mockery of HP fans as well. Just because we love Harry Potter doesn’t mean we’re stupid and will accept any kind of shit thrown our way – okay perhaps some fans will – but a large proportion of us still strap on our brain when we read and want good quality writing. What made us love Harry Potter is the amazing plot and complex characters that feel like real people! John Tiffany and Jack Thorne can’t even write good dialogue… What a bunch of wank! *sigh* Okay, I think I’m done (for now).

GHOST
A Book that Still Haunts You

That would still be The Cursed Child. Or perhaps Fifty Shades. Hm, it’s tough to choose between two so epically bad books.

DEMON
A Book that Really Scared You

In my childhood I read a few of the Goosebumps books by R. L. Stine. Those were the last horror books I ever read. Why? Because they scared the crap out of me! Horror is definitely not my genre.8444183_Z

SKELETON
A Character You Have a Bone to Pick With

Er……. I honestly don’t know. Please tell me who you would choose in the comment section down below.

MUMMY
A Book You Would Preserve Throughout Time

One book? As in only a single book?? I can’t do that! There are too many amazing books!

CREEPY DOLL
A Cover too Scary to Look At

There is one that I saw on a school friend’s shelf when I was a kid and that was really scary but because I can’t remember the title or the author I don’t know how to find it. So I have to go with the Danish cover of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince which, in my opinion, is pretty creepy.94ec024736933f5c6ddf99ea90824442

And that it is! I don’t have much more to say than I hope that you enjoy Halloween and the rest of Autumn, and remember to go outside and enjoy the pretty colours while they last.

    1. Thank you!
Right!? I’m amazed how accurate it is to the film, though. Especially thinking about that that book cover came first. I guess some scenes are just too iconic to fuck up.
A lot of countries have awesome covers! I’m also liking the new US ones and the Swedish, German and Dutch covers as well.
      Thanks for stopping by!
